Sexuality Education Professional Certification Course

 

The Sexuality Education Professional Certification Course is co-organized by Hong Kong Association of Sexuality Educators, Researchers & Therapists (HKASERT) and the Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK). Course instructors included Prof. Lin Yen Chin, Director and Professor of the Graduate School of Human Sexuality at Shu-Te University in Taiwan, as well as a number of local professionals.

 

Course Objectives:

At the completion of the course, participants should be able to:

A. Meet the requirement for certified membership of the Hong Kong Association of Sexuality Educators, Researchers & Therapists.

B. Meet the requirements for general membership of American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).

C. Have the competence to deliver sexuality education programs at a beginner level in Hong Kong.

D. Gain continuing education credits to contribute towards AASECT membership certification as sexuality educator or membership renewal.

  2. Theory and methods of sexuality education
  3. Self-Efficacy & Experiential Learning
  4. Sexual and Reproductive Anatomy & Physiology
  5. Developmental Sexuality
  6. Sexually transmissible infections & HIV/AIDS
  7. Contraception, pregnancy, fertility and abortion
  8. Sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and sexual assault
  9. Socio-cultural factors
  10. Sexuality and disability
  11. Intimacy skills, intimate relationships and family dynamics
  12. Cyber sexuality and social media
  13. Substance use/abuse and sexuality
  14. Media literacy and pornography
  15. Ethical issues in sexuality education
  16. Sexual orientation and gender identity
  17. Diversities in sexual expression and lifestyles
  18. Principles of sexuality research and research method

Note: CNE points that the learner will be awarded are 5 points.
