Research statistics show that miscarriage can occur up to 1 in 5 pregnancies, most of which occur before the 12th week of gestation. Therefore, early diagnosis of miscarriage and pregnancy complications which allowed prompt and appropriate management was important for the health of the expectant mother and her foetus. Common early pregnancy problems also include vaginal bleeding or cramping, ailments of early pregnancy, undetermined gestational age and medical history of complicated pregnancy or subfertility.

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic of The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong aims to care for women who are pregnant within 12 weeks of gestation and may encounter early pregnancy problems. Appointment will be arranged through internal referral by Birth Control Clinics.

  • NIFTY proTM (Optional)*

*NIFTY proTM (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing): It is a non-invasive test with accuracy over 99%, which can be performed from 10 weeks of pregnancy. The test will not increase the risk of miscarriage, only a small sample of mother’s peripheral blood is taken for testing. The test items include fetal gender, Down Syndrome, chromosomal abnormalities etc. Please consult your doctor before taking the test.
