FPAHK’s New CNE Online Program 2025 Provides Professional Knowledge in Sexual and Reproductive Health

The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK) will conduct the new online “Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Program in Sexual and Reproductive Health 2025” in May and June this year. Delivered by doctors in the field, this program aims to enhance nursing personnel’s professional knowledge in sexual dysfunction, prenatal screening, common breast problems and contraception. Recruitment has begun. 

“Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Program in Sexual and Reproductive Health 2025” comprises 4 sessions, to be conducted at 6:00-7:30 p.m. via Zoom - online platform, in Cantonese supplemented with English. The details are as follows:   

1.     Introduction to Sexual Dysfunction

Date:        15 May 2025 (Thurs)

Lecturer:   Dr. Ng W.Y. Angela, Board Member of Hong Kong Association of Sexuality Educators, Researchers & Therapists

Content:    Causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment modalities of sexual dysfunction

 2.    Updates on Prenatal Screening

Date:        22 May 2025 (Thurs)

Lecturer:   Dr. Chung W.H. Vivian, Consultant, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, United Christian Hospital

Content:    Updates on prenatal screening, including blood tests, Down syndrome and pre-eclampsia screening

 3.    Common Breast Problems

Date:        29 May 2025 (Thurs)

Lecturer:   Dr. Yiu C.P. Christopher, Specialist in General Surgery

Content:   Anatomy of breast, common symptoms of breast disease (breast mass, nipple discharge, mastalgia), common benign breast conditions (fibroadenoma, breast cyst, fibroadenosis) and management of breast cancer

4.    Updates on Contraception

Date:        5 June 2025 (Thurs)

Lecturer:   Dr. Wong C.Y. Grace, Senior Doctor, The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong

Content:    Available contraceptive options in Hong Kong, including the newly available methods, choices for termination of pregnancy, laws governing abortion and available resources for referral in Hong Kong

This program is designed for registered nurses, enrolled nurses, registered midwives and other interested health care professionals. Apart from enhancing and updating learners’ professional knowledge, this program will also help them understand nursing personnel’s role in promoting SRH and strengthen their confidence in managing relevant SRH cases. Each session carries 1.5 CNE points, totalling 6 points for the entire program. The fee is HK$300 for each session and HK$1,080 for all 4 sessions. Application closes on 6 May 2025.
