FPAHK launches government-subvented Pre-pregnancy Health Service to support healthy pregnancy
The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK) today launches its new Pre-pregnancy Health Service, a government-subvented service. This service is dedicated to helping women prepare for pregnancy, emphasising early planning in alignment with the Government’s policy to promote fertility.
Since 1998, FPAHK has been a pioneer in preconception care with the introduction of Hong Kong’s first “Pre-pregnancy Preparation Service”, later renamed the “Pre-pregnancy Check-up Service”. Over the years, this non-government-funded service has garnered widespread popularity and trust, serving 4,704 men and women in 2024 alone. Leveraging on more than two decades of expertise, the new government-subvented Pre-pregnancy Health Service offers another tailored, holistic pre-pregnancy health care. This new service underscores our dedication to providing accessible, expert care that empowers couples to plan confidently for their future families.
The Pre-pregnancy Health Service is exclusively for women and includes:
- A comprehensive pre-pregnancy assessment
- Pre-pregnancy counselling including advice on healthy lifestyle
- Physical and pelvic examinations performed by a doctor
- Blood test investigations
