Sir Robert Ho Tung Charitable Fund donation makes ultrasound scanning available to more young women facing pre-marital pregnancies at FPAHK

The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK) has received a generous donation of HK$108,000 from the Sir Robert Ho Tung Charitable Fund to purchase an ultrasound system for its Tsuen Wan Youth Health Care Centre (YHCC) to enhance its service for unmarried young women facing unplanned pregnancies and encourage timely help-seeking.

With the addition of a new ultrasound system from this month onwards, all of FPAHK’s three YHCCs in Wanchai, Mongkok and Tsuen Wan are now equipped to provide preliminary pregnancy dating scanning to assess the gestational age and state of an unplanned pregnancy allowing the clients to make the best informed decision about it without delay. In 2013, the YHCCs served 2,467 unmarried women aged below 26 who sought help for unplanned pregnancy.
