Seminar by renowned U.S. expert on life skills-based approach sexuality education for safeguarding youths from sexting, cyber porn

Youths today are increasingly exposed to such impacts as sexting, cybersex and pornography abound in the digital age. How can parents, teachers and youth workers help equip young people to safeguard against such impacts? Dr. Marty Klein, PhD, a psychotherapist, sex therapist and sex educator, will deliver a practical seminar on “The Life Skills Approach: Sexuality Education That Lasts a Lifetime” on 7 March, co-organized by the Family Planning Association of Hong Kong’s (FPAHK) and the Hong Kong Association of Sex Educators, Researchers & Therapists (HKASERT).

The World Health Organization recommends the life skills-based education (LSBE) in promoting sex education. More than knowledge, it aims at equipping young people with psychosocial competencies and interpersonal skills for making informed decisions, communicating effectively, empathizing with others, managing risk and building healthy relationships.

  • The role of gender (and gender quality) in sexual relationships
  • Reducing guilt and shame
