1. To enhance and update nurses’ knowledge of Sexual and Reproductive Health
2. To understand the role of nurses in promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health
3. To strengthen nurses’ confidence in dealing with reproductive health and sex-related issues in their work

Lecture Content:

1. Myths and Misconceptions about Contraception

Date: 11 Nov 2021 (Thur)
Lecturers: Dr. Li Hang-wun, Raymond, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology & Dr. Yung Shuk-fei, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Content: Explore the myths and misconceptions on contraception; Clarify on the indications, adverse effects, contraindications and precautions of specific contraceptive methods.

 

2. Management of Female Urinary Incontinence

Date: 18 Nov 2021 (Thur)
Lecturer: Dr. Cheon Willy, Cecilia, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Content: The causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence in women.

 

3. Facts & Myths about Different Healthy Diets

Date: 25 Nov 2021 (Thur)
Lecturer: Miss Ng Yin-chee, Rhoda, Registered Dietitian
Content: Explain some misunderstandings and facts about different healthy diets; Provide suggestions for improving health through daily diet.

 

4. Women’s Health in Menopausal Transition

Date: 2 Dec 2021 (Thur)
Lecturer: Dr. Wong Ching-yin, Grace, Senior Doctor of FPAHK & Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Content: Symptoms and health risks in menopausal transition; Counseling of women on lifestyle modifications in menopausal transition; Use of hormone replacement therapy in current perspective.

 

Target Audience: Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Registered Midwife or any interested health care providers

Enrollment Limit: 80 participants for each lecture

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese (supplemented by English)

CNE Points: 1 CNE point will be carried for 1 hour, i.e. 1.5 CNE points will be carried for each lecture of 1.5 hours and a total of 6 CNE points for the whole program (FPAHK is the accredited CNE provider by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong)

Award: Electronic Certificate of Attendance will be sent to each participant by email upon completion of the program

Course Fee: HK$250 per lecture (HK$900 for full enrollment)
