Online Sexual and Reproductive Health CNE Program to be delivered by Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynaecology & Experienced Registered Dietitian

The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK) will conduct the online “Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Program in Sexual and Reproductive Health 2021” in November and December this year. Delivered by specialists in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and experienced registered dietitian immersed in the field of sexual and reproductive health (SRH), this program aims to enhance nursing personnel’s professional knowledge in contraception, female urinary incontinence, healthy diets and menopause. Recruitment has begun. 

“Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Program in Sexual and Reproductive Health 2021” comprises 4 sessions, to be conducted at 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Thursdays via Zoom - online interactive platform, in Cantonese supplemented with English. The details are as follows:

1. Myths and Misconceptions about Contraception
Date: 11 November 2021 (Thu)
Lecturers:   Dr. Li Hang-wun, Raymond, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology & Dr. Yung Shuk-fei, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Content: Explore the myths and misconceptions on contraception; Clarify on the indications, adverse effects, contraindications and precautions of specific contraceptive methods.
2. Management of Female Urinary Incontinence
Date: 18 November 2021 (Thu)
Lecturer: Dr. Cheon Willy, Cecilia, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Content: The causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence in women.
3. Facts & Myths about Different Healthy Diets
Date: 25 November 2021 (Thu)
Lecturer: Miss Ng Yin-chee, Rhoda, Registered Dietitian
Content: Explain some misunderstandings and facts about different healthy diets; Provide suggestions for improving health through daily diets.
4. Women’s Health in Menopausal Transition
Date: 2 December 2021 (Thu)
Lecturer: Dr. WONG Ching-yin, Grace, Senior Doctor, FPAHK & Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Content: Symptoms and health risks in menopausal transition; Counselling of women on lifestyle modifications in menopausal transition; Use of hormone replacement therapy in current perspective.

This program caters to registered nurses, enrolled nurses, registered midwifes and other interested health care professionals. Apart from enhancing and updating learners’ professional knowledge, this program will also help understand nursing personnel’s role in promoting SRH and strengthen confidence in managing relevant SRH cases. Each session carries 1.5 CNE points, amounting to 6 points in total for the whole program. The program fee is HK$250 for each session and HK$900 for all 4 sessions. The application deadline is 27 October 2021.
