FPAHK’s new “Checkup and Assessment for Mature Couples” (CAMC) service launched in 2013 for mature couples (at least one partner being aged 50 or above) advocates that long-married couples should attend to their health and spousal relationship. Many couples were found to be facing challenges of life transitions and obstacles to intimate relationship. Their predominant common concerns were financial management and health issues. To address these needs, the Association organized a series of 3 talks from 30 November to 14 December 2013 for these mature couples.

Mrs Lau Yu Po Kwan, Clinical Psychologist and FPAHK Council member, advised couples to embrace life transitions by “Welcoming the New Chapter in Family Life”. Mr Lee Kam Hung, a veteran cross-media journalist, public speaker and also FPAHK Council member, shared his experience in “Keeping Love Afresh”. Mr Moses Lui, a renowned financial consultant, gave a talk to retiring people on “Financial Management for the Family”.

The lectures were well received by an audience of 94 in total, with a considerable number of couples. Feedback was very positive. Participants requested more interactive and participatory programs to enhance communication and spousal relationship. FPAHK will consider the possibility of organizing such programs on a more regular basis in future.
