Family BoBo Hunt 2017

To promote family sexuality education, FPAHK’s youth volunteer team Famplus2 organized a Family Treasure Hunt program from 8 to 22 April. All families in Hong Kong were invited to visit the monsters located on Wan Chai streets and read their stories behind. With the guideline provided, parents could initiate dialogue with their kids on topics like origin of birth, protection of private parts and puberty etc. Parents who shared their photos on Facebook or Instagram with the hastag of #fpahkbobohunt were entitled a free gift and a certificate as souvenir. The families were also given an opportunity of joining the luck draw in which some of them got the Tak Tak Kar Kar sexuality education dolls and sexuality education resources. 12 families participated in the monster hunt activity and experienced fun during the journey with their kids. Both of them agreed that it provided a good opportunity for them to start talking about sexuality with kids. The families appreciated the attractive outlooks of the monsters and they also found the stories easy to understand for kids.

As a click off of the treasure hunt program, the Activity and Resource Centre in Wan Chai organized a family sexuality education day on 8th April. Apart from interactive games, a family sexuality education talk was held in the afternoon. Families would also visit the exhibition of “Origin of Life” and participated in the blind drawing activity there. A total of 28 people visited the Activity and Resource Centre. The families enjoyed the activities and they were impressed by the huge collection of sexuality education resources for children of all ages. There was a notable increase in the number of followers of our Facebook page and more families learnt about the services of Activity and Resource Centre.
