Focus group study on Hong Kong women's fertility aspiration recruits participants

The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK) is commissioned by the Department of Social Work & Social Administration of the University of Hong Kong to conduct a Focus Group Study on the fertility aspiration of married women in Hong Kong. Local women are invited to participate in focus group meetings to give their views as reference for the formulation of policies by the government in the future. Participants will each receive a $300 cash coupon as a travel allowance.

Three focus groups will be held to understand the fertility aspiration of local married women aged 16-49 during April and May this year. The groups will discuss on their views and plans on marriage and family formation, actual and ideal number of children, fertility aspiration and underlying considerations, etc.

Eligible candidates are invited to participate in the focus groups. Participants will be divided into three groups as follows:

Group Participants
A Married women aged 16-49, without children
B Married women aged 16-49, with one child
C Married women aged 16-49, with two or more children

* Size of groups: 8 participants each group

* Discussion will be conducted in Cantonese and recorded in anonymity

* Decision on the final lists of participants will be made to include share-holders from diverse backgrounds in the discussion
