FPAHK Yuen Long Building Redevelopment Project

The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong’s (FPAHK) Yuen Long Building has served the New Territories for over half a century and is about to reach a new milestone. With financial support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Association will launch a redevelopment project to construct a new service building located on the original site of On Ning Road in Yuen Long, to provide quality integrated sexual and reproductive health services to the local community in the district.

FPAHK Yuen Long Building Redevelopment Project Launch Ceremony

FPAHK Yuen Long Building Redevelopment Project Launch Ceremony was successfully concluded on 3 May 2025, we sincerely thank all the guests for their enthusiastic support. The ceremony centered on the “Past, Present and Future” of the Yuen Long Building, officiating guests including: Ms Wing Lee, Charities Manager, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust; Ms Or Lai Kum, Christina, Senior Liaison Officer, Home Affairs Department, Yuen Long District Office; Mr Chung Chau Wah, Chairman, Yuen Long Town Centre & Rural East Area Committee; Prof Hextan Ngan, President, FPAHK; Miss Lina Yan, Vice-President, Convenor of the Yuen Long Building Redevelopment Project Steering Committee, FPAHK; Mr Thomas Y.T. Wong, Chairman, Member of the Yuen Long Building Redevelopment Project Steering Committee, FPAHK and Dr Mona Lam, Executive Director, FPAHK presided over the ceremony to mark the official start of the project. Two FPAHK’s former Executive Directors, Professor Peggy Lam and Dr Susan Fan, were invited to review the past, followed by the current FPAHK Executive Director Dr Mona Lam, who chatted with current nurses from Yuen Long Clinic as well as with a volunteer from Yuen Long Women’s Club about their experiences. There were also performances by the Women’s Club Community Drama Troupe and youth volunteers demonstrating the significance of the Association’s volunteer services.

During the welcome speech at the ceremony, Mr Thomas Y.T. Wong extended his heartfelt gratitude to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for its generous donation, which made this redevelopment project possible. Miss Lina Yan delivered a speech outlining the future plans for the new building. She announced that the new Yuen Long Building is expected to be operational as early as 2028. With ample space and enhanced facilities, the building will provide a wide range of quality integrated sexual and reproductive health services. Prof. Hextan Ngan delivered the closing remarks, thanking guests for their attendance and expressing that the new Yuen Long Building will offer a diverse variety of medical, counselling, and education services in sexual and reproductive health to residents of Yuen Long District and the Northern Metropolis, addressing their needs at various stages of life.
