FPAHK hosts Cervical Disease Clinic 20th Anniversary seminar to appeal for efforts to fight cervical cancer

The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK) celebrates its Cervical Disease Clinic’s 20th Anniversary this year by hosting the Seminar on “New Horizon in Cervical Cancer Screening and Prevention” in September to appeal for local healthcare professionals’ concerted efforts to fight against cervical cancer.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended the HPV-based testing as the preferred cervical screening method. Hong Kong’s Cancer Expert Working Group on Cancer Prevention and Screening, Centre for Health Protection has also incorporated primary high-risk HPV testing and co-testing as two alternative recommended cervical screening methods. This seminar aims to update local healthcare professionals on the latest advances in cervical cancer screening and prevention, including HPV-based testing and new HPV vaccination data, raise their awareness on current services in FPAHK and other local institutions and strengthen networking and concerted efforts towards eradicating cervical cancer in Hong Kong.
