FPAHK offers latest online CNE Program in Sexual and Reproductive Health

The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK) will conduct the “Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Program in Sexual and Reproductive Health 2020” online for the first time, in November and December this year. Delivered by specialists and doctors experienced in the field of sexual and reproductive health (SRH), this program aims to enhance nursing personnel’s professional knowledge in menopause health, breast health, sexual dysfunctions and subfertility. Recruitment has begun. 

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Program in Sexual and Reproductive Health 2020” comprises 4 sessions, to be conducted at 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays via Zoom Cloud Meetings, in Cantonese supplemented with English. The details are as follows: 

1. Women's Health in Menopausal Transition

Date: 11 November 2020 (Wed)
Lecturer: Dr WONG Ching-yin, Grace, Senior Doctor of FPAHK
Content: Symptoms and health risks in menopausal transition; Counseling of women on lifestyle modifications menopausal transition; Use of hormone replacement therapy in current perspective.

2. Common Breast Problems

Date: 18 November 2020 (Wed)
Lecturer: Dr YIU Chi-pang, Christopher, Specialist in General Surgery
Content: Anatomy of breast; Common symptoms of breast disease (breast mass, nipple discharge, mastalgia); Common benign breast conditions (fibroadenoma, breast cyst, fibroadenosis) and management of breast cancer.

3. Introduction to Sexual Dysfunction

Date: 25 November 2020 (Wed)
Lecturer: Dr NG Wing-ying, Angela, Board Member of Hong Kong Association of Sexuality Educators, Researchers & Therapists
Content: Causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment modalities of sexual dysfunction.   

4. Updates on Subfertility

Date: 2 December 2020 (Wed)
Lecturer: Dr LI Hang-wun, Raymond, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Content: Prominent factors in subfertile couples, investigation & treatment methods and available resources for referral in HK.


This program caters to registered nurses, enrolled nurses, registered midwifes and other interested health care professionals. Apart from enhancing and updating learners’ professional knowledge, this program will also help understand nursing personnel’s role in promoting SRH and strengthen confidence in managing relevant SRH cases. Each session carries 1.5 CNE points. The program fee is HK$250 for each session and HK$900 for the full 4 sessions. The application deadline is 27 October 2020.
