FPAHK to release findings of the latest Youth Sexuality Study 2021 (Secondary School Survey)

The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK) will release the findings of the latest Youth Sexuality Study 2021 (Secondary School Survey). The Youth Sexuality Study, a territory-wide survey series conducted every 5 years since 1981, investigates the patterns and trends among youths in respect of their sexual knowledge, attitude and behaviors. 

You are cordially invited to the Press Conference on Report on the Youth Sexuality Study 2021 (Secondary School Survey), to be held on 14 June 2022 (Tuesday), at 2:30 - 4:00pm, at  FPA Mrs. Laura Jee Li Auditorium, FPAHK, 9/F, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

More than 8,000 secondary school students were polled last year in this survey which covers the following aspects:

  • Sexual knowledge – knowledge on conception, STIs and HIV/AIDS; desired topics to learn, etc.;
  • Sexual attitudes - towards pre-marital sex, extra-marital affair, cohabitation, abortion, LGBT, prostitution, ;
  • Gender expression, gender identity and sexual orientation;
  • Dating experience – prevalence, age of first dating, conflicts and breakups, etc.;
  • Sexual intercourse experience – prevalence and age of sexual debut;
  • Future marriage and childbearing intentions;
  • Social media experiences– Pornography, image-based sexual violence, sextings and naked-chats. 

Prof. Paul Yip, Honorary Advisor and Chairman of Research Sub-committee, Dr. Mona Lam, Executive Director and Mr. Sun Chan, Statistics and Information Technology Manager of FPAHK will deliver the key results and give recommendations in response.
