Young people tend to raise numerous questions about sex as they grow up. But it’s too embarrassing to ask either parents or teachers! It’s awkward to ask friends or classmates too…… Surfing the internet might be the best option, but it seems to be filled with unhealthy information……
Four new activities were added to the sexual education activity week, which had always been warmly welcomed by schools. The addition of the new activities aimed at increasing diversity as well as strengthening students’ understanding towards different themes in sexuality education. This will in return create a relaxed atmosphere for further discussion of the topic.
The 4th Asian Conference on Sexuality Education (ACSE IV), organized by the Family Planning Association of Hong Kong, was carried out from 12-14 Aug 2010 at the Hong Kong Institute of Education.
ACSE IV was the first international conference in Hong Kong exploring the development of sexuality education. Nearly 300 sex educators from around the world, such as China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines and Cambodia, etc., gathered in Hong Kong to discuss the challenges and new emerging issues of sexuality education, and to exchange latest knowledge, techniques and strategies for promoting sexuality education for the millennium generation...
Following the three previous conferences held in Beijing (2001), Kaohsiung (2004) and Tokyo (2007), the 4th Asian Conference in Sexuality Education (ACSE) will be held in Hong Kong with he theme of 'Today's Sexuality Education for Tomorrow's Generation’. We are in an honour of inviting Asian and local researchers and front-line workers to share their valuable experiences in the skill-building workshops.

However there are concerns about the quality of information and the possible threats of the online world. It is important for parents and educators to help young people establishing a cautious and healthy attitude towards the use of the internet. In view of this, the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority (TELA) organized the “Meritorious Websites Contest” to promote encourage young people to pay more visits to healthy websites, and to recognize the contributions of producers of healthy websites. It is our honor to announce that the FPAHK Sexuality Education Website was elected as one of the Meritorious Websites of the year, and we attended the Ceremony on Meritorious Websites Contest on 21st March 2010.
The 4th Asian Conference on Sexuality Education will be held in Hong Kong on 12 - 14 August, 2010. This triennial event provided a platform for exchanging and sharing of new knowledge and skills among participants from different regions and professions.
