Six workshops were conducted on the third day of the ACSE4 Conference, conducted by experienced sex educators and social workers from Taiwan, New Zealand and Hong Kong. The topics were diverse, including compensated dating, peer education, young people and media, sexual orientation, handling skills of unplanned pregnancy, two-sex education, etc.... A lot of participants found the workshops helpful. Through discussion, they gained insights of the problems and difficulties other regions were facing, through learning the past experiences of others they could then enrich their future programmes and thus also helped increase their confidence in implementing the programmes.
We, the participants of the 4th Asian Conference on Sexuality Education, declare that:
We will uphold the goal of promoting gender equity, sexual and reproductive health and rights in Asia; through government leadership, decision-makers engagement and multi-sectoral cooperation, to further improve sexuality education strategies, advocacy, implementation and development of evidence-based programmes....
At the closure of the 4th Asian Conference on Sexuality Education, a group of youth participants called upon policy makers and decision makers from government and different communities to actively address SRHR of young people and promote comprehensive sexuality education among young people. Let's share their feelings, opinions and recommendations as follows, and their words might provide insights for youth services providers and educators:

Most couples find it difficult to talk about their sex life to others. It may be especially difficult to those who just begin to have sex as they may easily get into self-blame and feel too depressed to seek help...
I am interested in the topic related to the sex life of youths. It is said that youth hold very open attitudes towards sex. There is a trend that youth tend to have sex in their earlier ages. I’m not sure about how young they were when they had their first sex experience. However, I believe it would be good to find out more on this topic, such as the reasons behind; the real current situation; the possible problems, etc. I believe this is something I would like to investigate and to share with youth, their parents as well as all the people in Hong Kong...
Youth are curious about ‘sexual behaviour’ no matter which generation it is, and this is also the main reason of browsing Internet pornography. In addition, there are many news regarding this issue, like, ‘Sex party held by secondary students’, ‘From government statistics, last year, the number of people who underwent abortion and was aged under 18 were about 400’, ‘Youth forcing 14-year-old friend to have sex’. Therefore, I think sexual behaviour is the main concern in youth sexuality education. ..
Young people nowadays are too causal about sex. Some of them think that love is initiated by sex, while some of the others perceive it as an expression of love, and young women even use sex as a way to keep their boyfriends around and to satisfy their partners’ sexual needs...
Nowadays young people are early maturing. Their thinking is more open than the last generation, and premarital sexual behaviour has become one of the serious problems among young people. In the society flooding with information, young people are often exposed with porn messages through various channels. They may not know how to be critical and just satisfies their curiosity and desire without much consideration. Eventually they become more naïve in their behaviours...
The lack of sex knowledge of young people is my main concern.
Sexuality is innate, a gift given by nature, yet often being ignored. In Hong Kong society, sex is a taboo subject which cannot be openly discussed. Even it could be discussed, the feelings of shame is unavoidable as sex is labeled as something you could only do privately...
As part of FPAHK Youth Love & Sexuality Campaign, a Sexuality Education Workshop for Parents and Pre-teen children co-organized by FPAHK and the Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BCGA) was successfully held on 10 May 2008.
