Subfertility Service
Service Content
The Family Planning Association's Subfertility Service offers investigations for couples who have difficulty in childbearing and suggestions of appropriate management.
Since the start of its Sub-fertility Service in 1956, the Association has been helping couples with fertility problem realize their desire for childbearing. Depending on individual case, subfertile men and women may be referred to the male infertility clinic or the gynaecological clinic at public or private hospital for further investigations.
1. Health Talk
- The talk covers the causes of infertility, and its investigation and treatment methods.
2. First consultation
- Taking of personal and family medical history of the couple
- Measuring body weight, blood pressure and pulse rate
- Examination of thyroid, chest, breast and abdomen of the female partner
- Examination of the female pelvis and external genitalia
(Physical and pelvic examination will be charged separately at HK$20 each)
3. Urine Analysis: checking urine for glucose and urine protein
